RSPCA and Vetwest Animal Hospitals working together

We are delighted to announce a new partnership with the RSPCA. As part of our new venture we will be providing a range of much needed services for the inspectorate. We will also be working together on other initiatives to assist in the welfare and care of animals who are in a less fortunate situation then those we see in our practices.

During our discussions with the RSPCA we have been amazed to learn about the many wonderful things this organization is involved in and also about the incredible generosity of West Australians who support them.

Here's some interesting facts we learned...

  • The RPSCA exists in WA today as a result of generous donations made by businesses and the community
  • Volunteers make up a majority of the workforce required to run PawsCentral (RSPCA's Malaga Shelter). They work tirelessly, in an often heart-wrenching role, to make the world a better place for thousands of animals looking for a new home every year.
  • The RSPCA is not a government agency. They do receive a grant of $250,000 a year from the West Australian government to run the inspectorate and education programs that make up so much of the Society's work. This grant helps pay for Inspectors and their equipment as well as contributing to the cost of prosecution cases.
  • In the last financial year, nearly 2000 animals have found a new home thanks to the RSPCA
  • A donation of $60 will provide immediate emergency care for a dog rescued by a RSPCA inspector
  • A new 'Wellness Walk' and ‘Pet Therapy Garden' has recently been built with the assistance of Lotterywest to encourage senior citizens to visit PawsCentral. Here they have the opportunity to enjoy the companionship of Man's Best Friend on a specially prepared trail around the RSPCA's land.

Vetwest Animal Hospitals looks forward to working together with the RSPCA to help provide a brighter, better world for all animals.
