"Pet food industry in trouble", a story recently aired on ABC's, The 7.30 Report highlighted cases of poisoning associated with contaminated imported pet foods. Further to this we would like to clarify that Hills Pet Nutrition products, the food we supply and recommend for pets, does not contain meat ingredients from China or Ireland. Dr Karen L. Johnston from Hills Pet Nutrition has officially stated "To ensure our nutrition provides at all times the best possible benefits for the health of the pet we work exclusively on the basis of fixed formulas with tested ingredients coming from qualified sources. Our precisely balanced formulas do not change to fit the availability of cheaper, lower quality ingredients. Hill's products do not contain meat ingredients from China or Ireland". In an additional statement Dr Johnston also confirmed that Hills Pet Nutrition products are not irradiated rather they are treated to a high temperature during the cooking process which kills infectious organisms and then are preserved. For more information please see the attached statements issued by Hills Pet Nutrition.
