Frequently asked questions about our free services
Do I need an appointment for a nurse clinic?
So we can provide you with our undivided attention all nurse clinics require an appointment. Just call our practice to make an appointment.
Should I bring my pet to a nurse clinic?
Yes, of course. We will talk about specific issues relating to your pet and also update their patient history including their weight and any other information of relevance.
Is a nurse clinic a substitute for a veterinary consultation?
A nurse clinic is designed to provide you with general information about your pet. If our nurse feels there is something important you should speak to a veterinarian about or there is an identified problem with your pet they will advise you if your pet should see a veterinarian.
Can my pet start on a weight loss clinic without seeing a veterinarian?
If your pet is a regular Vetwest patient and has had a recent check-up you can commence the weight loss program immediately with the assistance of our nurses. If your pet has not had a recent check-up at Vetwest we will request for you to see a veterinarian prior to starting the program. This will help us to identify and if required eliminate any medical related problems which may be causing weight gain, prior to commencing the program.
