Grass seeds season

We are coming into that time of year again when those bothersome grass seeds can become a problem as the grass is getting drier.

There are a few ways you can minimise grass seed problems.

  • Keep your grass short, this will minimise the amount of seeds in the environment.
  • Check your pets' coat daily including between the toes (this is a common place for grass seeds to get lodged).
  • If you have a long coated pet ensure their coat is kept short and groomed daily.
  • Avoid taking your pet to areas where there are dry grass.

If you suspect your pet may have a problem with a grass seed then it is important to see a vet as soon as possible. If left for too long, the grass seeds can be very difficult to retrieve and infection can occur.
