This year’s quiz night was to raise funds for the Free The Bears Fund.  It was fantastic to have it’s wonderful founder, Mrs Mary Hutton along with a full table of Free The Bears volunteers and friends attend the evening.

The Free the Bears Fund is an Australian charitable wildlife-protection organisation. It was started by Mary after she watched a documentary in 1993 on bears kept in small cages for bile farming. The fund was registered as a not-for-profit charity on 23 March 1995.

The Free the Bears Fund supports animal welfare projects in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, working with rescued and confiscated Asian black bears, Sun bears and Sloth bears.

We are thrilled to announce that the funds raised from the 2015 Vetwest Quiz Night totalled: $1,625.50! Also, in line with the Vetwest Co Donation Program, Vetwest agreed to match this amount dollar for dollar, so the grand total raised for Free The Bears was…….. $3,251.00!!

Much gratitude to everyone who came along and contributed to this fantastic effort!

Sincere thanks to Vetwest team members Asha and Jayne, who organised the event and acted as scorers on the night.  A big thank you too to Royal Canin premium food, who were extremely generous in agreeing to sponsor this event.  Their contributions helped cover the costs of many of the prizes.

Our Director, Craig Challen was a great sport, bravely agreeing to be put up for auction again this year.  The winning bidder paid a very handsome $300.00 for 2 hours of Craig’s time. Thanks Craig!

Here’s looking forward to the 2016 Quiz Night!
