Dr Lara joined Vetwest in 2022 and has been the Lead Veterinarian at Vetwest Carine since 2024. Originally from South Africa, Lara moved to Perth with her family in 2022, bringing with her over a decade of experience in small animal practice.
Lara’s love for animals has been lifelong, but her passion for veterinary medicine truly began when her own dog was tragically run over. Experiencing the medical and surgical care involved in saving her sparked a deep appreciation for the field and ultimately shaped her career path.
Lara takes a thorough, thoughtful approach to each case and prides herself on being personable and approachable. She understands the real-life challenges of pet ownership and aims to tailor treatment plans to meet each pet’s needs while considering the unique circumstances of every family.
Her professional interests include preventative care, internal medicine and Dentistry.
