Silvia was born in Slovakia, graduated from University Of Veterinary Medicine in Košice and relocated to Australia in 2004 after successfully completing the National Veterinary Examination with her husband.
Currently working as a small animal veterinarian at Vetwest and an animal welfare officer at Curtin University and Harry Perkins Institute of medical research, and sitting on an Animal Ethics committee for The Kids Institute.
Senior veterinarian with 25+ years in practice , experienced in ultrasonography , general surgery, internal medicine and dermatology.
Mom of 2 teenagers, 4 cats and a French Bulldog and avid figure skater who represents Australia in adult figure skating competitions.
