Rachel commenced her Veterinary nursing career in 1991. In 1992, Rachel became a committee member for the West Australian Veterinary Nursing Association (WAVNA). She was soon appointed as the president of WAVNA, a position which she had from 1993 to 1994. During this time, WAVNA joined the National Veterinary Association, which is now known as the Veterinary Nursing Council of Australia (VNCA).
The next part of Rachel’s journey focused on her interest in Pet Nutrition. Whilst she was still veterinary nursing in a small practice, Rachel engaged with further study, which she used to become a National Pet Food Nutritionist for Mars Pet Care from 1991 to 2017.
Following this, Rachel developed a passion for Canine Rehabilitation. She pursued this by sourcing further education specific to Canine Hydrotherapy, Canine Remedial Message and Canine Sports Medicine. Throughout this, Rachel travelled interstate and met with International Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners. Feeling like she had fulfilled this aspect of her journey, Rachel began a new chapter when she joined Vetpartners Vetwest in 2022 at their Currambine clinic, and was appointed Practice Manager at Vetpartners Brighton before moving to her current position as the Practice Manager of Vetwest Ballajura.
Rachel has two adult children: a daughter and a son. She also has a Cavoodle named Phoebe, a Pink and Grey Galah called Radar, and a fish named Squid.
When not at work, Rachel loves to collect antique Kodak cameras and spend time with her family and pets.
