Vetwest supports World Vision's East Africa Appeal

In October 2011, Vetwest ran a hydrobath fundraiser to raise funds for the World Vision's East Africa Emergency Appeal. 50% of all proceeds made from our hydrobath services were donated to this appeal. We are proud to announce that we were able to contribute $1400 to World Vision.

As you may already be aware, East Africa is experiencing its worst drought in more than 60 years. Poor rainfall and massively inflated food prices are affecting more than 13 million people in countries including Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. World Vision is responding to the immediate needs of those affected by drought. Aiming to help 2.5 million people by December 2011, their response includes:

  • General food distributions
  • Providing vitamin rich ready to eat meals
  • Immunisation
  • Trucking water in to communities and schools
  • Vaccinations for cattle and other livestock
  • Providing seeds for planting

Vetwest are also proud to continue their support with charities locally and internationally. Here's a few of the other charities we regularly assist.

  • RSPCA WA
  • Ruby Benjamin Foundation
  • Native Animal Rescue
  • Oxfam
  • World Wildlife Fund
  • Australian Marine Conversation Society
  • Medecins Sans Frontieres
