Hydrobathing

Pee-eww! Is that the dog that smells? A hydrobath is an easy way for your dog to be thoroughly washed and dried with no effort required by you! So when your dog takes a bath you don't need to too. Our hydrobathing facilities help to keep your pet smelling fresh and their coat looking clean, shiny and healthy.

DIY and Nurse Assisted Hydrobathing

DIY (do-it-yourself) and Nurse Assisted hydrobaths are available at all Vetwest Animal Hospital locations.

Do you need to make an appointment?

DIY Hydrobaths - we recommend calling to make an appointment to ensure availability. If you require a nurse to bath your dog (nurse assisted bathing) it is important to call your local Vetwest to make an appointment.

Do you need to bring your own shampoo?

All Vetwest Animal Hospitals use a veterinary grade, mild shampoo. We do not use flea rinses as we recommend monthly flea prevention rather than bathing as a method of flea control. If your pet has sensitive skin and you are concerned about their coat, you can supply your own shampoo or we have a small range of medicated shampoos available for sale.

How will your dog get dry after a hydrobath?

We towel dry all dogs after a bath.

Do you need to bring a towel?

We supply chamois towels to dry dogs as they absorb more water from a dog's coat. The chamois towels are also more eco-friendly than normal bath towels.  Towels are washed after every use.  If you prefer to use bath towels, we recommend bringing your own.

Would you like your dog's nails clipped?

Vetwest Animal Hospitals offer free nail clipping for dogs. Make sure you ask one of our team members to assist. For more details on our free nail clipping service select this link.

Hydrobathing during the cooler months

Depending on your pet's coat, we like to be mindful of the time it takes for pets to dry during the cooler months of the year. Generally we suggest  you bath before 5pm to prevent unnecessary chill.
